New at Cafés des Alpes!

-Tanzania is the 18th largest producer of coffee in the world. 70% of this production is Arabica and 30% Robusta. There are 3 major production areas: in the West along the Great Rift and Lake Victoria, in the South, bordering Mozambique, and in the East, along the Kenyan border.

-I offer you a 100% Arabica, from this last border area of Kenya. The plantations are located on a volcanic plateau at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, in the Arusha area.

-There are just over 1,350 families who cultivate plots of coffee trees on these plateaus at an average altitude of 1,800m. The volcanic terrain is conducive to quality crops with a yield higher than the average for Tanzanian plantations. They use traditional methods, are certified organic, and the harvest is done manually.

-Once harvested, the cherries are washed and then fermented for 24 hours. They are then placed on African beds to dry for several days, then once pulped, the grains dry again to reach a humidity level of 11%. They are then sorted and prepared for transport.

-This coffee comes from 2 varieties: Bourbon and Kent.

-Tasting

-This coffee has a powerful body, but without bitterness. Perfect for those who like "full-bodied" Arabicas. We are on very caramelized, chocolatey and fruity notes.

-This coffee is perfect as an espresso, as well as in a mild preparation, French Press...: the fruity side will stand out all the more!
